Wilbraham reveals double setback ahead of Brighton win AARON Wilbraham has revealed he led the Palace attack on Monday night despite the double setback of an ankle injury and his mum being admitted into hospital. The Eagles frontman damaged his left ankle just seconds before the end of the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-final against Brighton at Selhurst Park. But Wilbraham refused to miss the decisive second leg on the South Coast - even though he also learned the day before that his mum Gayle had been hospitalised. He said: "I was probably only 60 per cent but I got through the 90 minutes. Once the adrenaline kicks in you don’t feel a thing. “I got told my mum got put in hospital on Sunday because she is ill. I had a few bits of adversity with the ankle and then getting the phonecall off my sister about my mum.
